Cairns Championship - R1
Desmares salvages a steady result amidst a difficult start to the night, a probable spark box failure whilst starting the car prior to the Cairns event on Saturday morning caused some concerns for the team.
Thankfully we were able to source the replacement MSD ignition box and wiring harness thanks to the Walsh racing team, A last minute thrash to swap components out and rewire the LS3 motor prior to engine starts - with thanks to the Walsh and King families, Jared was able to take his position in the field which saw a 4th place and 2nd place finish in the heat races.
With some strong results in the heat races the Q40 Sprint car was able to start 9th in the feature race, in front of a packed Cairns Speedway facility. Jared was able to gain a few positions in a feature race plagued by yellow stoppages, bringing the car home in 7th place. A solid result for the first night out with the new engine package.
A special thanks must go out to Kenny McNamara for all the phone/technical support whilst we were trouble shooting the electrical issue prior to the night.
The next race for the JFM Sprint car team will be June 18/19th at the Mareeba Speedway.
